DIY or Call Us?
There’s a short list of things you can safely check yourself. Replace the batteries with fresh alkalines, not rechargeables - the voltage curve on NiMH cells confuses the low-battery detection. Verify the strike isn’t obstructed with paint buildup. Check that the interior escutcheon screws are tight; loose mounting lets humidity in and strains the antenna cable.
What you should not attempt: removing the cylinder to access the smart module. Abloy Protec2 cylinders contain a sidebar and rotating disks under spring pressure. If a disk pops out during disassembly, the cylinder is destroyed and cannot be rekeyed to your existing key system.
